Energist™ is the only company worldwide to offer Nitrogen Plasma Skin Regeneration with NeoGen™, a unique and ground-breaking technology within the industry. VPL™ Variable Pulsed Light technology is also a celebrated IPL technology used worldwide since 1999. Energist Medical Group’s MedArt™ laser division has more than 30 years of experience in the design and manufacture of aesthetic and surgical laser systems.

Energist™ has an accredited quality system to the following standards – ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 13485:2012. This ensures that all systems are built and tested within a stringent quality control environment allowing them to carry CE or CE medical marking. Energist Group is committed to producing systems that meet demanding regulatory requirements – this is demonstrated through gaining FDA, Health Canada, KFDA, SFDA and other clearances.

The history of Energist™

Energist Ltd, based in Swansea, South Wales, UK, was founded in 1999 and quickly became a leader in Pulsed Light (IPL) systems based around its unique VPL variable pulsed light technology.

Energist expanded rapidly between 2002 and 2008, growing a worldwide distribution base and significant sales in SE Asia, Europe, Middle East and North America, focused on its Ultra VPL and LED technologies.

In 2008 the company opened its Energist American office, in order to support the large established VPL user base and further expand into the largest single aesthetic procedure market in the world.

In 2009 Energist Medical Group acquired the iPulse™ brand of Pulsed Light systems from UK manufacturer Cyden Ltd, giving Energist the most comprehensive range of IPL Intense Pulsed Light systems in the industry. These ‘ePulse’ IPL systems are now manufactured at Energist Ltd, Swansea.

2009 also saw Energist Group acquire Copenhagen-based MedArt, a high end laser manufacturing company with nearly 30 years’ experience in the market. With this expansion into the laser business, Energist Medical Group is fast becoming a dominant equipment supplier within the aesthetic sector.

In November 2010 Energist acquired the Portrait™ technology with its unique nitrogen plasma skin regeneration ‘PSR’ technology, which Energist has redeveloped to produce the newly launched NeoGen™ PSR system. Energist now has a broad base of technologies: Pulsed Light, Laser and Plasma, addressing broad applications in the medical and beauty markets.

In August 2013 the first production model NeoGen™ Plasma System left the Swansea production line.  This unique and sought after technology is set to revolutionise the aesthetic treatment industry, and is already gaining popularity with installations in UK, Europe and Asian markets.

Company Background

Energist Ltd started out in 1999 as a manufacturer of pulsed light systems in Swansea, UK. Basing our unique Variable Pulsed Light, VPL™, hair removal and skin rejuvenation systems on the well-established results of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology, Energist has become a major provider of light based treatment systems. Energist Ltd currently has over 3500 VPL™ systems in use worldwide through a comprehensive international distribution network.

In the last decade there has been a rapid expansion in the use of lasers and intense pulsed light systems for various cosmetic and medical conditions. Pulsed light technology has progressed significantly, none more so than the Energist Variable Pulsed Light (VPL™) system, allowing major increases in available power whilst still offering a high degree of safety and minimal side effects. This is due to improvements in filter and pulsing design technology where Energist leads the field. VPL™ systems are used for hair removal, permanent hair reduction and skin treatments such as photorejuvenation*, fine lines and wrinkles, epidermal pigmentation, sun damage, benign vascular and pigmented lesions, rosacea* and active acne*.

Hair removal lasers, such as the ruby laser, alexandrite laser, diode laser and Nd:YAG laser are well documented methods of treatment for hair removal, hypertrichosis, hirsutism, with many making claims of permanent hair removal. These lasers can have limitations, including physician use only, and are generally more aggressive forms of treatment for which a high proportion of people are excluded from undertaking or cannot tolerate. Broad band light sources or intense light sources (as intense pulsed light is sometimes known) are proving to be very effective forms of treatment for permanent hair reduction. The Energist Ultra Variable Pulsed Light (VPL™) system is clinically proven to provide long term stable hair reduction (better known as permanent hair reduction). The Ultra VPL™ system is designed to provide the clinician, or aesthetician, with a treatment alternative to traditional hair removal techniques such as waxing, sugaring, electrolysis and plucking.

For beauty treatments and skin treatments the UltraPlus VPL™ system can be used to transform the look of the skin in a few simple sessions. The visible signs of ageing and sun damage can be effectively reduced to achieve younger looking, healthy skin (this is commonly known as photorejuvenation, skin revitalisation or Photofacial™). As we age, UV damage and a harsh environment leads to unwanted skin conditions such as apparent vascular lesions (telangiectasias, thread veins, diffuse redness, couperose, spider naevi), epidermal pigmented lesions (age spots, liver spots, solar lentigines), fine lines and wrinkles (solar elastosis).

The VPL™ treatment induces a thermal insult to the skin, thus initiating the body’s healing response. The body will then start producing new elastin and collagen fibres which helps restructure the collagen matrix, leading to a reduction in the depth of fine lines and wrinkles. VPL™ treatment can be used in conjunction with other cosmetic treatments such as Microdermabrasion, Botox™ and dermal fillers.

Energist has also completed a randomised, controlled parallel group study in the treatment of actinic keratoses. Using photodynamic therapy with MAL (Methyl-Aminolevulinate) in conjunction with the Energist Ultra VPL™ system has shown to be an effective and safe method of treatment.

Energist Ltd works closely with various local and international regulatory bodies, such as the Care Quality Commission in the UK, to ensure that all mandatory requirements are met, ensuring that the safety of users and customers is paramount.

*The claim for indicated treatments (photorejuvenation, skin rejuvenation, acne, active acne, acne rosacea, rosacea) is only legally allowable in certain countries and is regulated by the appropriate local government agency.

Many companies, who profess an ability to help with your recruitment processes, will cite their large, high quality network of industry specific contacts as a reason for their differentiation from competitors.

Ultimately however, for all the size and supposed qualities of respective networks, the only relevant detail for a hiring company is how that network translates into a successful employee joining them.

At Guided Solutions we embrace technology to maintain industry links, we understand however, that a network that delivers unique results has its roots in traditional relationship building and the insights these connections yield.
